Tennessee Valley Authority
Choctaw County is part of the TVA power supply network. TVA is the nation’s largest public power company, serving about 8.5 million customers through 158 distributors. TVA offers a variety of programs and services to existing and new commercial electricity customers. View a description of the TVA economic development programs.
4-County Electric Power Association
The local distributor of electricity, 4-County Electric Power Association’s rates are based on the actual cost of providing electric service to consumer/members. These costs include wholesale power costs from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), the cost of operating and maintaining lines and equipment, taxes and interest expenses. 4-County operates on a non-profit basis. Any revenues collected in excess of the actual cost of operation provide for members/ownership/equity in the electric cooperative.
- General Power (GSA) Rate – 5,000 kW or less
- General Power (GSB) Rate – between 5,000 kW and 15,000 kW
- Manufacturing Service (MSB) Rate – between 5,000 kW and 15,000 kW, major use is for activities at delivery point for customers classified with a 2-digit Standard Industrial Classification Code between 20 and 39
- Time of Day (TGSA) Rate
Water and Sewer
Choctaw Water Association
There are several water associations in Choctaw County, but the primary supplier to our industrial sites and buildings is Choctaw Water Association.
Natural Gas
Atmos Energy
Provides natural gas to much of the county, while the Town of Weir provides natural gas to its residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
